# Troubleshoot Common AIBCO Widget Issues

> Fix the most common AIBCO widget, chat, setup, and billing problems fast. Covers embeds, hosted pages, credits, scans, and plan limits.

Use this guide when something isn't working as expected with your AIBCO widget, chat, or account. Each section covers a specific symptom and the exact steps to resolve it.

<Accordion title="The widget isn't showing on my website">
 Check three things:

 1. Your domain is saved in **General → Website domain** and matches the site you pasted the snippet into.
 2. You have at least one product that is both **Live** (has an image) and **Visible**.
 3. For **Render + Chat**, at least one knowledge source is saved on the **Chat** page.

 If all are correct, hard-refresh the page and wait up to 60 seconds after adding the snippet.

 The domain check only applies to the embed. If your [hosted page](/hosted-page/overview) works but the embed doesn't, the domain is almost certainly the problem.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="My hosted page says 'This page isn't available.'">
 Three things must all be true for the page to serve: **Publish hosted page** is switched on, a **Page address** is saved, and you have at least **one product that is both Live and Visible**. Check all three in **General**. A product with no image is still a Draft and doesn't count, and neither does a live product with its **Visible** toggle off.

 The same message appears if the address in the URL doesn't exist. Check that you didn't change your page address after sharing the link.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="I changed my page address and my old link stopped working">
 That's expected: the address *is* the link. The old URL now shows "This page isn't available." for everyone. Update your bio links, email signature, ads, and any printed material with the new one from **General → Hosted page → Copy**. There's no redirect from the old address.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Visitors see "powered by aibco.ai" after my business name">
 That's the Free plan branding. Your name itself is fine: the suffix is added at display time only. Upgrade to any paid plan and it disappears immediately. You don't need to re-save your name.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="I uploaded a business photo but visitors still see initials">
 The business photo is a paid-plan feature. On Free (or after downgrading to Free) your file is kept but visitors see your initials. The **General → Business photo** section tells you which state you're in and links to upgrade.

 If you're on a paid plan and still see initials, confirm the photo actually saved. You must click **Save photo** in the **Position your photo** dialog, not just pick the file.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="The widget shows 'temporarily unavailable'">
 Either the widget is switched off or you're out of credits. Go to **General → Status** and check the **Enable widget** toggle. If that's on, check your balance in the sidebar. At 1 credit or below the widget stops serving visitors. Top up in **Billing**.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="The chat isn't answering my questions">
 Make sure you've saved content in at least one knowledge source (Text, Website, or Document) on the **Chat** page. If you're in **Render only** mode, switch to **Render + Chat** in **General** first. To try your answers, use the **Playground**.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="A website scan failed or returned no content">
 The page must be publicly accessible (no login required). Check that the URL is correct and the page loads in an incognito browser window. Dynamic pages that load content via JavaScript may not extract well. Use the **Text** or **Document** tab instead. Note that a scan which fails after starting is not refunded.

 If you scanned several pages, the wizard's review screen marks each link **Read** or **No data**, so you can see exactly which one came back empty and drop it from the next scan.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Where can I see what the wizard configured?">
 Open the wizard from the sidebar and click **See what your last setup configured** on the welcome screen. The full review reappears: where your widget can appear, what was written to your profile, the products it drafted and which need photos, what your assistant learned, and which links produced content. Opening it costs nothing and changes nothing.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Setup ran fine but says my widget has nowhere to appear">
 That means no domain was authorized and your hosted page isn't published. It's the normal outcome of the *pages I don't own* and *not online anywhere* routes: reading a page you don't own never authorizes it. Fix it in **General**: either save your own domain, or turn on **Publish hosted page** and share that link.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="I'm running low on credits">
 Go to **Billing** to top up or upgrade your plan. You'll get a warning email at 16 credits. At 1 credit or below, the entire widget stops, both the visualizer and the chat. Visitors can't reach you at all until you top up, so don't let it get that far.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="A render failed. Do I get my credits back?">
 No. Renders are charged when they start, not when they finish. Failed renders are not refunded.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Scanning and uploading are greyed out">
 Your knowledge capacity has reached 90% or above. Delete or trim an existing source (Text, Website, or Document) to free up space, then try again.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Can I change the widget mode after going live?">
 Yes. Switch between Render only and Render + Chat anytime in **General → Widget mode**. The change takes effect immediately across all embedded instances.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="My analytics tabs are locked">
 Free accounts include 14 days of analytics from signup. After that the Renders, Funnel, Products, and Conversations tabs lock until you upgrade. Nothing was deleted: upgrading reopens your entire history. Your **Leads** and **Credits** tabs are never locked.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="I re-ran the setup wizard and lost my chat knowledge">
 Running the wizard against a **different source** replaces your business profile, knowledge base, and chat settings, and deletes products from the previous source. Running it against the **same source** keeps your products and only refreshes the knowledge. Check the message on the wizard's opening screen before confirming. It names both sources, tells you which mode will run, and says how many products would be deleted.

 Two things always survive either mode: the notes you typed into **Anything you'd like to add**, and your uploaded documents. Anything you'd hate to lose is safest written into the **Text** tab or the wizard's notes box rather than left to a scan.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="Can I move the widget to a different website?">
 Yes. Remove the saved domain in **General → Website domain** and save the new one. Only one domain is authorized at a time, on every plan. Your hosted page is unaffected either way: it doesn't run on your domain.
</Accordion>

<Accordion title="I don't have a website. Can I still use AIBCO?">
 Yes: that's what the [hosted page](/hosted-page/overview) is for. Skip the domain and snippet entirely. Set your **Page address** in **General → Hosted page**, turn on **Publish hosted page**, and share the link. Everything else (products, chat, leads, analytics) works exactly the same.

 When the setup wizard asks where to read about you, pick **My work is on pages I don't own** and give it your Instagram, LinkedIn, Houzz, or marketplace listing (up to five of them). If you're not online anywhere at all, pick the third option: describe the business yourself, upload a brochure, and the run costs nothing.
